Which number should I choose?

All numbers produce reports on usage so you could use more than one number to use on different media to see which campaigns produce the best response. And as monthly admin costs (Free on revenue share to landlines) are capped at £2 per account and not per number you can have more than one number to analyse customer response.

If you have landlines.
Deciding which number range you should  use is dependent on a number of factors. We always advise you have two number ranges which can even be sent to the same telephone number/s.

For businesses in a highly competitive market
Firstly a Freephone number which can increase customer response by 300% backed up by a revenue share number to cancel out costs. The revenue share number to be used on invoices and follow up stationary and for calls that require customer support. You should always use a tariff that will not be resented by your customer and should be balanced with the duration that these calls usually last and the reason for the call.

For business in a less competitive market
Firstly a Local Rate 0845 number which now generates revenue share and possibly a low rate 0871 number on stationary and invoices etc to boost income.

For businesses without competition or offer a service by telephone.
You could go for the highest rate 0871 at a tariff at 10p per minute dependent on the service you offer and whether your customers would be put off by this charge. We also have four more tariffs in the 0871 range 9p, 8p, 7p and the lowest of just 6p per min.

If you only have a mobile
Deciding which number ranges to use may be more cost related if you are a small business only having a mobile to receive calls from customers. If your call duration is short then a Freephone number, which can increase customer response by 300%, may still be a viable option. How much is the job worth against the cost of the call will help you decide if this is viable or not. Having any number range which is perceived by the public to be a landline number is always better than a mobile number alone on your advertisements. You could always have more than one number for marketing purposes.
